STUDENT OF THE WEEK

By Seara Lavine

This week, we shine the Titan spotlight on Jonathan Valencia. Jonathan Valencia is a junior at Memorial High School. MHS English teacher D’mari Domingo nominated him for the recognition. "Jonathan works very diligently in class and has excellent critical thinking skills. He always asks for help when needed and is very supportive of her peers in class," said Ms. Domingo. "He has maintained a near straight "A" average in his classes." In addition to demonstrating brilliance in the classroom, Jonathan has proved to be a standout and a great soccer team member.

Being named Student of the Week surprised him. "It feels inspiring," he said. After high school, Jonathan wants to get a degree in criminal justice and become a detective. He wants to study economics and investments and eventually form his own company.

When asked if he has a quote he lives by, he said, "Never let fear make you do the wrong thing," he said. "In my opinion, the more you know, the more opportunities you have in life."
