PORT ARTHUR, —As Memorial High School kicks off the 2023-2024 academic year, students and staff are eager to welcome their new principal, Dr. Jeremy Small. Holding three college degrees, he has a passion for reading and an unusual love for shoes. Beyond his professional life, Dr. Small is a dedicated single father, which he believes equips him with a deep understanding of the students’ needs and aspirations.

When asked about his approach to this year’s homecoming festivities, Dr. Small emphasized his commitment to putting students first. “Homecoming this year is very student-focused,” he remarked. “ I am presented with ideas from students that I discuss with my team to see if we are able to make it happen.” This statement underscores his willingness to give students a voice in shaping their school experience.
